Return to Anguilla–Part One

by Megan on November 17, 2012

Ever since we got back from Anguilla last year, I have been totally obsessed with the idea of returning to the island.  I had been looking forward to this trip for the better part of 2012 and my excitement the week before our departure was off the charts.

After a long day of travel, we made our 4pm charter from SXM with only a few minutes to spare (it figures that when you need to retrieve your bags ASAP, they are the last two that show up on the luggage carousel).

As soon as our boat came within eyesight of the Blowing Point ferry terminal any annoyance with the 5AM wake up and long day of travel melted away.  Seeing that crazy turquoise water is probably one of my most favorite things.

The view from our room was outstanding.  After dropping our bags, I made some quick phone calls to set up a few activities/reservations for the week.  Not long after that we made our way to the beach bar and paid our friend Sam the first of many visits of the week.

The long travel day and lack of substantial food quickly caught up with me and after two margaritas I was fairly intoxicated.  We decided to grab a quick bite to eat at the bar and headed back to the room to sleep it off.

When you wake up in one place where it is cold and gross outside and fall asleep that same night in Anguilla, it’s safe to say that you have had a pretty good day.
